This painting was an exciting experiment with oil pouring, where I embraced the unpredictable movement of paint to create a fluid and dynamic foundation. Inspired by the coastal beauty of the Algarve, I incorporated an image of a small boat into the composition, blending realism with abstraction.

The scene portrays a serene and captivating moment, a small boat, gently tied by a rope, floating on tranquil water. The Algarve original art is rich in cool, deep blues with hints of green and yellow, capturing the way light dances on the water’s surface. The boat, painted in light and vivid blues, contrasts beautifully against the darker, shadowed water, which swirls into an organic, flowing pattern of colour.

As an artist painting Algarve, I wanted to convey the quiet stillness of a boat resting on calm waters while allowing the fluid art technique to bring movement and spontaneity into the piece. The gentle ripples and shifting tones evoke a peaceful ambiance, reflecting the ever-changing nature of water and light.
